The First Day of Classes... I'm not teaching a class this semester, but am instead wrapped up in Academic Technology, shepherding our guest lecturer Mr. Pratt.
In the meantime, before students returned, the school held a banquet for all staff -- only a few new people this semester -- and we dressed up for it.
You can see that the theme was Valentine's Day. Freshly imported (via recent visitors) Hershey's Kisses and Hugs were on each table. The best part was Barb's beautiful new sari, as you see in the photo at right.
Unfortunately, she took ill during dessert, and walked home with a neighbor. Yikes, some bad intestinal bacteria took over!
Following are some other photos taken at the banquet:
left to right: Mr. Jelaji (head of Edgehill, the elementary dorm); Mrs. Ebenezer (admissions office); Mr. Gill (purchasing); Mr. Taylor (Hanifl environmental center); Mrs. Swanson (librarian); Mr. Swanson (intranet support, and resident retired pathologist).
Mr. & Mrs. Mark: he grew up at Woodstock, and is now the head of PhysEd department; she is the head of the elementary school.
Busy Busy planning for the staff retreat, as the main topic is "Academic Technology", to be led by a consultant from Chicago, sponsored by the Hanifl Foundation.
Doug Pratt is here, woozy from jet lag and time zone and altitude, but basically healthy. Fortunately, the weather is gorgeous.
