Monkeys in the sugar bowl?

[A notice posted on the staff e-mail board regarding the coffee supplies in the teacher's lounge]

Dear Colleagues,
We have lost a second sugar container. It looks like the container was left open on the counter and maybe monkeys came in and took it as the lid is still on the counter with sugar all over the counter. Please be responsible and close the container after use and put it back into the cupboard. Also, please help by keeping the outside door closed as there are many monkeys around the tea garden area.

New school year begins

While the western world is enjoying the last blast of summer and preparing for the opening of another school year, we here at Woodstock School in the Himalayas of India are well into the semester. School officially began in July, just as the monsoon rains started. Barb’s first and second graders have already dined at our house for Class Night (see photo), as Jeff’s advisor group of tenth graders will next week. We have already hosted several groups of middle school boarding students to “dinner and a movie” overnights, and Barb held her first FMBS (Friday Morning Bible Study) at the house, for a group of ninth grade girls – complete with breakfast at 6:30am! Chris and Cole have gotten into the rhythm of classes and study hall, after-school sports and weekend social and service activities. The fast pace will continue until we catch our breath at quarter break in early October.
